Review: Kindle Marketing By Helen Lindop

Kindle Marketing by Helen Lindop

I was really pleased to be given the opportunity to review this new e-book: Kindle Marketing – grow your business by writing a Kindle e-book, by Helen Lindop.  I would love to write my own e-book at some point in the future, so it was really useful to read and review the book before I put my ideas on paper.

My first impressions of the book after a quick flick through were good – I don’t know about you, but I always have a little skim read first then get properly stuck in for a second read. The book cover is quite plain, but the title is clear so you know what you can expect.  Included in the price you receive a word document with some useful tips which you can also use as a template for your own e-book.  This is a great idea to help you get started straight away rather than staring at a blank page for a while wondering where to start!  You also get an Amazon and Facebook double whammy guide which compliments the book nicely and contains lots of useful information about niche research, your book cover and Facebook advertising.

The book itself is very comprehensive and if you are considering writing an e-book yourself it gives a good background into Kindle publishing and how it can help you promote your business.  There are also lots of tips on researching the market before you start.  This is really important as it will give you a good idea as to what is selling well, what subject to focus on, what there seems to be too much/too little of and what kind of prices you can expect to pitch your book at.  I like the fact that Helen has an awareness that many of her readers might already have some content they could utilise.  Many of us like-minded women in business may well have written articles which could be developed into an e-book.

There are practical tips on your book cover design and where you can go to outsource this should you wish.  When you have come up with your material the step by step guide ‘Formatting your Kindle book’  is very good and includes various screen shots to help you through the procedure.  Once you have your book ready there is a chapter on the description of your book and a pricing guide.  This is vital as is is important to get the price right in Kindle’s competitive market.

The book costs £9.00 but it is well worth it considering how comprehensive the content is and this includes the bonus material mentioned above.  It has been published just at the right time, as more people will be going down the Kindle route.  If you would like to be publishing your own Kindle book within the next few months I can highly recommend this book and I will be using it myself too!  Helen proves she is a very talented writer and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

You can buy Kindle Marketing by Helen Lindop on her Business Plus Baby website for £9.00.
